Guide On Preparing RC Boat For Water

by rcboatc on August 9, 2011

There are some things you have to take care of before you decide to put your RC boat on the water for the first time in order to ensure a smooth operation.

First to do is to lube the propeller shaft of RC boat with good oil like marine grease in order to keep the water away from that area and to reduce any buildup of friction. Both purposes are important and reducing the friction in actuality has a lot of awesome side effects: if you can keep the friction down to its minimum this also at the same time reduce the wear on the parts which in turn preserve it much longer and lessens the build up of heat that may melt sensitive parts away.

Also, make sure that you properly charged all the batteries needed both on the main and for the controls because nothing is more frustrating than to experience a dead boat wherein the only way to get it is to ride on an actual boat itself or to swim. Well, of course, most people would prefer the former because who would thought of going to the water and swim just to get a play boat.

For as much as possible, it is highly recommended that you only use fresh fuel on your RC boat and never try any used up fuel whether it is from your old boat or from other gas powered appliance because the use of fresh fuel would ensure that you can always get the best performance on your boat.
