If you are using a nitro type RC boat for your RC hobby, it is important that you properly seal its vital parts in the right way to prevent impurities from entering the system. Most nitro boats has its own water cooler inside and just in case the tubing for the cooler was damage or got plugged then the heat could go beyond what is necessary and this could damage the engine and so, just replace the tubing with a new one every now and then to ensure that the tubing would always be good. Just remember that if the tubing was damaged, water could spread inside and that would be a serious problem.
And aside from heat, you also have to take into consideration the very thing the RC boat rides on: the water. Pure water is not a problem but since the water in nature is full of other elements, it is in fact not that good for the metal that is being used in the engine. Its corrosive nature could easily rust the vital parts of the engine leaving it weak and fragile and so, reducing its performance. As much as possible, use run oil for each use for the engine to seal what is necessary to seal.
Lastly, you might be tempted to use the fuel that was stored in your garage but it was never been recommended to use a stale fuel for any RC boat because it will likely undergone a chemical change that might not be favorable for the engine and it is better to buy a fresh fuel than to buy a new boat.
